I decided to sum up the other highlights of my vacation...
Seeing Rome with my brother, Sean, the first 2 days
Touring the house my PopPop grew up in
Going to the beach in Termoli
Visiting my great grandparents grave
Going to a winery
Walking through miles of sunflowers
The view of the mountains and greenery surrounding the town
The feast that was going on in the town while we were there
The delicious 10 course meal we ate with my PopPop's cousins in Termoli (This could also be considered one of the worst parts of the trip considering we were stuffed by the 3rd course but had to continue eating out of respect haha. I never saw so much food continually come out of a kitchen in a 2 and a half hour timespan).
Gelato-YUM!
Spending our last full day together in Rome with my family
My worst experience of the trip BY FAR was missing one of my connecting flights in Moscow, Russia and having to spend the night there. I wish I could've seen what my face looked like when they casually told me I had to stay there for another 24 hours. Talk about AWEFUL!!!!!!!!!!!
I took about 400 pictures so I will share some...
Throwing my coin in the Trevi Fountain
The rest of the family finally arrived to meet us in Rome
Minutes after we surprised Gmom and Pop
The view I saw from my window every morning...beautiful
With a population of about only 1500 people, Montecilfone is very carefree and peaceful
Right after we went to the beach in Termoli
Ahhhhh walking in the beautiful sunflowers!
I LOVED them!
Picking the grapes straight from the vine and eating them at the winery
With my great grandparents grave
With the official Montecilfone sign
Eating lamb kabobs at the feast in town on August 14th
After a few setbacks getting home I'm just glad to be back on Guam with Jack and Alfie. I missed them so much while I was gone! I am so grateful that I had this experience and am so thankful that everyone got home safely. Whenever my PopPop tells his wonderful stories of growing up in Italy I can FINALLY picture what he is talking about. It feels so great to know so much more about my family's history.

BRAT!
