Hello Summer

Even though it is technically summer for all 365 days of the year on Guam, this weekend was the official kickoff to summer. We usually aren't very busy but this weekend was jam packed.

Friday was the start of my summer vacation from work :) Jack only had to work a half day because we had the annual USS Frank Cable picnic to attend.

Saturday was an unusual day because we had to evacuate our house from 9am to 2pm. Earlier in the week while digging for the new gym that is being built down the street from our house, they came across a 66 year old 1,000 pound WWII bomb. Soooo long story short we had to evacuate so the bomb squad could defuse and remove the bomb. How cRaZy is that?
I don't know who this guy is but this is a picture of the bomb halfway in the ground that was on the news.

So while we had to be out we decided to go golfing with some friends. We were a little rusty but I definitely had more fun driving the cart. The weather was great though and we had a really fun day!

Sunday morning Jack woke up and picked some bananas in our backyard. How cool is that?

Then for dinner we made some homemade sushi. Yummmmy!

We took the dogs for a long walk after dinner and they got to play with our friend's 3 year old daughter. Needless to say, she exhausted them but they both had so much fun! We caught Alfie snoozing and then the flash disturbed him, poor thing.

Jack has off from work today (Monday) and tomorrow so we decided to go caving this morning with a few of his friends from work. It was beyond amazing! The cave had a huge pool all the way in that we could go swimming in. It was so dark inside but luckily we brought some flashlights and put some candles throughout. It was such a neat experience, like nothing I have ever seen before! Of course mother nature decided to kickoff rainy season today which made for an interesting yet slippery trail. The sloping trail gave us a run for our money so we were glad it wasn't extra sunny (although the rain made it very humid).
Here is a view of the trail.

Tomorrow our little Lucy baby is getting spayed so please pray for her speedy recovery!

Also, Happy Father's day to our wonderful Dad's and my PopPop! We love you all and miss you very much :)
