Foot Surgery

I finally had my foot surgery on August 20th. Everything went as planned and 3 weeks later I am feeling good about it. I was planning on taking pictures of my progress but decided against it since I was fainting almost every time I looked at my foot haha. I started work again on August 25th so all of the walking around I did at school derailed my progress a bit, but I seem to be back on track now. Most of the swelling and bruising has since gone down and I am just waiting for the doctor's okay to start wearing a normal shoe again. I have been having some trouble with tingling and pain in my nerves which will hopefully go away in time. Since I had a nerve cut out my doctor explained this pain to me as phantom pain, or the pain that amputee's feel from their missing limb. In my case it is caused from my missing nerve. Despite the term "phantom" this pain and tingling is very real and uncomfortable for me. I'm patiently waiting for my full recovery. I'm looking forward to doing normal things again like going for walks at night with Jack and the pups and going to the beach. Hopefully within the next few weeks :)

Found this butterfly on the way out of the Naval Hospital's pharmacy. Poor thing had a hurt wing. With its hurt wing and my hurt foot, I think it was God's way of telling me that my foot would be okay.

Like my shoe?
